Honouring a hero
"Grandkinder" Anita's father, Hanus J. Grosz, and his brother Karel, came to England on the March 1939 Kindertransport from Prague. Lilian Bowes-Lyon, a stranger to the family, sponsored both Hanus and Karel allowing them to come to England. Both of their parents were killed during the Holocaust. In 1989, Anita co-founded the Kindertransport Association Inc in the USA and has been an active second generation member of the Board since that time. She is also a member of the World Federation of Jewish Child Survivors of the Holocaust.
